TEACHER (HEAD START, EARLY HEAD START AND UNIVERSAL PRE-K) – JOB ORDER

JOB SUMMARY:

Teacher (Head Start, Early Head Start, Universal Pre-K) positions in Oneida County for Mohawk Valley

Community Action Agency. Work collaboratively with the classroom team, parent(s)/ guardian(s) and

volunteers to ensure successful operation of a classroom of children ages 3-5 to implement curriculum to

achieve outcomes for children. Provide direct and competent supervision to ensure safety and security of

children at all times in accordance with Head Start regulations. Establish positive, trustworthy and

productive relationships with children and families.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Head Start Teacher must possess an Associate, Bachelor or Advanced degree in Early Childhood Education.

Early Head Start Teacher must have a 2 year degree in Early Childhood Education plus 1 year specific

training and/ or experience in infant/ toddler preferred. Universal Pre-K Teacher must possess a current

NYS Preschool Certification (N-6). All positions require the ability to travel to all sites, trainings and home

visits as necessary; good written and oral communication skills; basic computer skills; ability to exercise

discretion and maintain confidentiality and privacy; adhere to agency personnel policies and procedures;

attend trainings and meetings as required; and knowledge and experience working with families and

children with low income and diverse cultures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb a flight of stairs several

times a day and get down on the floor and interact with children. Background check, fingerprint screen and

annual physical exam and TB are also required.


WAGES:

Pay range is $12.97 – $17.29 per hour.


ASSISTANT TEACHER – JOB ORDER NUMBER – NY1091398


JOB SUMMARY:

Assistant Teacher (Head Start, Early Head Start, Universal Pre-K) positions in Oneida County for Mohawk

Valley Community Action Agency. Work collaboratively with the classroom team, parent(s)/ guardian(s)

and volunteers to ensure successful operation of a classroom of children ages 3-5 to implement curriculum

to achieve outcomes for children.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Associates, Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Childhood or Early Childhood Education preferred or related

field with specific early childhood coursework and experience working in a classroom setting, or current

Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with 2 years experience working with preschool

children in a classroom setting; ability to travel to all sites, trainings and home visits as necessary and

required; good written and oral communication skills; ability to exercise discretion and maintain

confidentiality and privacy; adhere to agency personnel policies and procedures; attends trainings and

meetings as required, ability to maintain records; basic computer literacy in email, word processing and

internet navigation; knowledge and experience working with families and children with low income and

diverse cultures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb a flight of stairs several times a day and get down on the

WAGES:

Pay range is $9.08 – $12.12 per hour.


CLASSROOM AIDE – JOB ORDER NUMBER – NY1091395


JOB SUMMARY:

Work collaboratively with the classroom team, parent(s)/ guardian(s) and volunteers to ensure the successful

operation of the classroom of children 3-5 years of age to implement the curriculum to achieve outcomes for

children. Assist education staff in daily classroom functions including health mandates. Assist in

implementation of daily routine as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A current Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Associate, Bachelor or advance degree in any

area; ability to travel to all sites, trainings and home visits as necessary; good written and oral

communication skills; ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality and privacy; adhere to

agency personnel policies and procedures; attend trainings and meetings as required; ability to maintain

records; basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation; knowledge and

experience working with families and children with low income and diverse cultures. Must be able to lift 50

lbs., climb a flight of stairs several times a day and get down on the floor and interact with children.

WAGES:

Pay range is $8.00 – $9.92 per hour.
