Job Fair Description

Join us April 13, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a hiring fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, and eligible spouses in the Woodway 1 Room of the Westin Galleria, 5060 West Alabama St, Houston, Texas. This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers.

Employers and job seekers are strongly encouraged to pre-register for FREE. Walk-ins are welcome but space is not guaranteed.

This Hero2Hired (H2H) and Call of Duty Endowment sponsored hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and held in partnership with the Greater Houston Partnership, the Department of Labor s Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the Texas Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), NBC News, and other local chambers.

Houston Employment Workshop - GE Veterans Network Transition Assistance Program
The employment workshop will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by GE's own veteran employees conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants. Mentoring sessions for registered participants will run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and will focus on resume building, resume writing, and interviewing techniques. After the pre-registered candidates have had the opportunity for their one-on-one session, we will take walk-ins for the balance of the morning until noon.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate. A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted.
